The 24th Windsurfing and Kiteboarding World Cup will be held in Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Island, from July 17 to August 1.

The windsurfing includes slalom and freestyle disciplines, and the kiteboarders will compete in freestyle discipline, there also will be a kiteloop competition.

Both windsurfers and kiteboarders will compete in freestyle events in which judges awards points for spectacular leaps and breathtaking manoeuvres.

The Competition is to be held close to the beach so spectators can have excellent views of the action as contact between competitors and spectators is encouraged as the extreme scompetitors enjoy the attention whilst preparing.

Spectators can chill on the beach with and listen music whilst watching the events in the lounge area. At night, thousands of visitors and locals get together at the legendary World Cup Parties in the party tent, then at the award ceremony.

The competitions start daily between 10 am and around 6 pm. Evening events and parties start from 9 pm.

The low cost airline Easyjet have announced that they will commence flights to Fuerteventura from the 4^th November 2009.

Presently the schedule runs at Stansted – Wednesdays and Saturdays. From Liverpool Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and from Madrid on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays as well as the weekends.

This is good news as the problems with Ryanair ceasing to fly into Fuerteventura, there is at least one budget airline that can get you into the Canary Islands.

It is rumoured that Ryanair will start flights to Fuerteventura in September, but this has yet to be confirmed.
